Aims of the project
The aim of the project is to counteract the influence of Russian propaganda and fake news on the young generation of residents as well as adults in Polish and Lithuanian regions bordering Russia and Belarus. The young generation is particularly vulnerable to disinformation present in electronic media, including the Internet and social media. The Russian military aggression initiated in February 2022 has created new conditions for the spread of Russian propaganda and fake news in relation to this armed conflict, as well as many other areas where Russian propaganda is particularly active.
Activities within the project will be aimed at increasing the social awareness of representatives of the young generation (students, high school students) and adults with regard to the threats of Russian propaganda and the spread of fake news. The project is addressed to young residents of Polish and Lithuanian regions bordering the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation and territory of Belarus, particularly exposed to Russian propaganda and threats related to hybrid activities, but it will also affect adults and general public in borderlands.
An important challenge is to combat Russian propaganda and fake news, which appears in the media space in the context of Russian aggression in Ukraine. This problem concerns the areas of intervention undertaken within the proposed project in two dimensions.
